It was my mom and step-dad's anniversary last week, and my step dad did something that a lot of wives might not appreciate. He's a professional detailer and has detailed some spectacular multimillion dollar cars, but that didn't mean he took the Mini for granted. Eight and a half hours later, my mom's JCW was cleaner than it's ever been. Seeing as she's on of the reasons I'm so obsessed with cars, she's really appreciated it.
There's something to be said about knowing what your partner wants.
A note on the front wheels: I was talking to my stepdad the other day and those pain-in-the-ass white wheels came up. Apparently the fronts really just need to be repainted if my mom wants them to be spotless. Almost 10 years of brake dust build up that has never been properly cleaned off on white paint has a tendency to etch itself in. Oops.

This little bugger is her pride and joy. She really does have amazing automotive taste.
She had a few VW Beetles (Super and regular), a Fiat 124 Spider, two BMW 2002s, and a Saab 900 Turbo, to name a few.

I thought so too but she really likes the white, which I prefer as well. I think she'll probably have the fronts repainted at some point. The rears are still fine.

That was actually the inspiration! Really the only differences are the white mirrors (the red Mini in the Italian Job had black mirrors) and the wheels. She was considering getting a set of BBSs for a while to really complete the look, but I think she loves the car enough the way it is not to change it.
